Abington-Roychester is a volunteer run organization, and we need your help!!

Why Should I Become a Volunteer?

Volunteers are the beating heart of Abington-Roychester Baseball and Softball. We rely solely on the devoted members of our community to help ensure that our organization continues to operate and run smoothly. We are always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to help out in all capacities.  The best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply by being themselves.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them!  Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply.

Volunteering doesn’t necessarily require experience or even any knowledge of the game. There are many ways to contribute that you don’t have to be an expert to help out. Any contribution of your time makes a major difference to the organization and our players.

All parents of children involved in ARBA are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent, volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment.

What Volunteer Opportunities are Available?

COACHES:

We understand that not everyone wants to be, or can be a head coach or assistant coach.  However, these volunteers are essential and make a big difference for our league and our players. No experience is necessary and there are plenty of “seasoned veterans” and other resources to assist you.  Volunteer coaches are always needed for teams of all ages (T-Ball all the way up to U15 Baseball and Softball).

Head Coach:

A Head Coach helps teach the game and provide the training skills necessary for their players to be successful.  They help build players’ self-confidence and promote team sportsmanship. They plan and run practices, prepare for and manage games, and are the primary contact between the team and the league.  Head Coaches are responsible for communicating with the parents/guardians of players and keeping them informed of all league events, practices and games.

Assistant Coach:

Assistant Coaches help support the Head Coach in practice and during games.  Assistant coaches will help the Head Coach lead practices, demonstrate and explain skills to the players and take over in a Head Coach’s absence.

OTHER VOLUNTEER ROLES:

Abington-Roychester welcomes everyone to get involved in any capacity in which they are capable.  We encourage you to reach out to us with any role, ideas or interests you might have.

The following includes opportunities to help out and make a big impact, but on a more informal basis.

Team Parent

A team parent is someone who is willing to lend a hand and support the coaches and team in any variety of ways needed. Whether it be helping out during practices or games, assisting with team communication and outreach, organizing team activities such as parties and snacks, etc., a team parent is a great way to be involved in a more informal capacity.

Social Media Coordinator

As an ARBA Social Media Coordinator, you will be a key player in enhancing our online presence and community engagement. Your role involves sharing and creating engaging content across various social media platforms, managing our accounts, and promoting league activities.  If you're creative, organized and have a knack for social media, this volunteer opportunity is an excellent way to make a positive impact and foster a more connected ARBA Community.

Field Maintenance
As a part of the field maintenance crew, your skills and abilities may be called up to help line fields, rake fields, and perform other field preparation and maintenance
